Taste of Dublin, the city’s annual culinary celebration, kicked off its four-day residency at Iveagh Gardens today. Star chefs and award-winning restaurants will be serving up the best food and drink that Ireland has to offer, from fine French dining to Scandinavian and Asian fusion. If you’re hungry to learn, top chefs including Neven Maguire, Rachel Allen, and Kevin Dundon will be giving masterclasses throughout the weekend. With such a wide array of delicious dishes and tasty treats available, what’s a foodie to eat? To help you out, we’ve picked the top restaurants and exhibitors that you need to sample at Taste of Dublin. We promise you’ll be the object of food envy!

FX Buckley Steakhouse

If you’re a sucker for succulent steaks, be sure to make a pitstop at FX Buckley. One bite of their famous 28-day dry-aged steak will send you right to meat heaven. Also on the menu? Foie gras sliders and fillet tartare.

Chef Maurice O’Brien has already clinched two awards at this year’s Taste of Dublin for Best Restaurant and Best Front of House. If you want to learn from the best, FX Buckley currently has three chef openings.

Matt the Thresher

This stylish restaurant specialises in fresh Irish seafood, sourced directly from the harbour. Rumour has it that Bono once took Michelle Obama here for a meal. Plus, Matt the Thresher is giving away a pair of tickets for Taste of Dublin tomorrow lunch. Just head over to their Facebook page and tag a foodie friend, the winner will be announced on Friday morning!

Saba

Saba, which means “happy meeting place” in Thai, certainly lives up to its name by serving tasty Thai and Vietnamese food that keeps all its patrons satisfied. Just today, Chef Tao won 2nd place in Taste of Dublin’s Signature Dish contest for a cracking prawn pomelo. If this doesn’t convince you to give them a try, we don’t know what will!

Sika Restaurant

Located in luxury five-star venue Powerscourt Hotel, Sika Restaurant offers the best of Irish contemporary cooking. The culinary team,  led by Head Chef Peter Byrne, is famous for their chocolate sphere, venison, and petit fours. Today, they took the bronze prize for Best in Show at Taste of Dublin.
