Strong Opinions, Loosely Held

Refinery29’s flagship podcast Strong Opinions, Loosely Held covers everything from the Kardashians to the correlation between social media and our self-worth. The podcast is hosted by Elisa Kreisinger and is released every Monday (perfect for a Tuesday morning bus ride). The podcast is all about answering the big questions and they don’t shy away from a good debate.

StartUp

StartUp is your go-to podcast for everything you need to know about getting a business off the ground. The hosts, Alex Blumberg and Lisa Chow are experts in the field and have a wealth of experience between them. While seasons 1 and 2 focused on one business each. Season 3 looks at a new business every episode which keeps things interesting.

Freakonomics Radio

8 million people download Freakonomics Radio every month so they are obviously doing something right. Host Stephen J. Dubner has surprising conversations that explore everyday life covering a wide range of topics from sport to parenting. The guests on the show are notoriously good as well. You’ll learn more listening to one podcast than you would by attending a business lecture.

Modern Love

Based on the popular New York Times column with the same name, Modern love is the perfect feel good podcast. Hosted by Meghna Chakrabarti and Daniel Jones, each episode features a reading from a notable essayist or personality that discusses the parameters of love. Check out Katie Couric’s emotional reading of Leslie Lehr’s essay ”How I Got to Here.” It will leave you speechless.

Beyond The To-Do List

If you’re a serial procrastinator then you need this podcast in your life. Beyond The To-Do List is hosted by Erick Fisher, a productivity author and coach. Erik discusses topics like the importance of rest, accountability and fighting perfectionism.
