Companies That Champion Women in the Workplace

This Friday, 8th March is International Women’s Day. It’s a day when we celebrate amazing females around the world while also reflecting on the gender inequality that still exists today.

Code Institute

Code Institute is one of the fastest-growing edtech companies on the market. Based in Ireland, their courses are now sold and taught all over the world. Code institute is dedicated to gender balance in the tech space and offers employees competitive salaries, skill development and flexible work options. Check out their roles here.

Airbnb

Airbnb place a great emphasis on diversity in their organisation. From 2016-2017 the percentage of women in engineering and other technical roles increased from 25.6%-28.7%. The company offers lots of staff perks like enhanced maternity/paternity leave, personal time off and supported paid volunteer time. Find out more here.

Slack

In their 2018 diversity report, Slack revealed that 44.7% of their workforce is comprised of women. That’s up from 43.5% the year before. According to the company’s website they will, ”Continue our commitment to pay and promotion equity among people of all genders and have confirmed equal pay and promotion rates for three years running.” Check out their available jobs here.

Mongo DB

Mongo DB go above and beyond for their employees. They have unlimited holidays, flexible work schedules and new parents receive 20 weeks paid parental leave. The company also has a dedicated women’s group that meets monthly to discuss all things relevant to women in tech in an open and honest forum. Mentorship, guidance, and advice are also offered through a mentor/mentee programme. Find out more here.

BT Ireland

BT Ireland champion diversity in their workplace. The company has local networks for LGBT+ allies, gender equality and parents and carers which are all managed by their staff. These networks promote events and organise local activities such as participation in the Pride Run (which BT sponsors), the Pride March, coffee mornings for parents, specific training and knowledge calls. Zendesk celebrates women at every level of their careers. Their internal organisation Women at Zendesk helps support women to achieve their personal and professional goals. Efforts include collaborating with recruitment to extend the pipeline to seek qualified women for roles across the company, and working with organisations that uplift women in each office. Apply for their roles today.

Informatica

Informatica is another company that is leading the charge on diversity. According to the company website their ”goal has been and will always be to consistently build a fun, diverse, and inclusive workforce that enables all team members to unleash their potential.” They offer employees lots of benefits like tuition reimbursement and adoption assistance.
