The speakers at HIGHER at Dublin Tech Summit: Day 1

HIGHER at Dublin Tech Summit is a careers event like no other. It takes place in the RDS on April 10th and 11th and it’s a unique opportunity to meet the biggest names in tech.

This talk is the story of Flash Pack: How it came about, why it came about and how the idea became a reality. Learn about how Flash Pack are disrupting the travel market and scaling up for world domination from one of Flash Pack’s Founders, Lee Thompson.

Fidelity Investments: ‘An accidental techie’

Mairead Scanlon, Director of Fidelity, shares an insightful personal story about her technology career journey, and how working at Fidelity Investments has given her greater insights into the true value of diversity. 

SOTI: ‘Simplify your business mobility’

11:30 – 12:10

Join this session to learn how mobility is changing the way businesses around the world address the costs, complexity and downtime of their business-critical operations. From enterprise mobility and IoT management, to creating apps that replace paper processes, this session is designed to highlight the mobile-first future. Don’t miss this talk by Shash Anand, VP of Product Strategy. 

Bank of Ireland: ‘Begin – Changing for the better in IT in Bank of Ireland’

Every change has a ‘begin’ moment. In this keynote, Gary McMahon, Project Management Competency lead for IT in Bank of Ireland, discusses how the company is transforming through technology. Beginning with the core values and culture of Bank of Ireland, Gary will explain how the company is building a future of success. 

Musgrave Group: ‘Designing and delivering your shopping experience’

The Musgrave Group are behind some of Ireland’s most popular retail chains such as SuperValu and Centra. In this talk, Don Lynch Head of Platform and Engineering, and Caroline Walsh, Head of Digital Product, will discuss how the company designs and delivers a shopping experience that enables customers to shop how, when and where they want to.

McAfee: ‘Careers and culture’

Get ready to be immersed in the culture of one of the world’s largest security tech companies. Tableau: ‘Transforming traditional work patterns’

To flourish in the future of work requires greater insights and more data-driven decisions. This keynote will discuss Tableau’s recent innovations in emerging technologies such as AI and where speaker Ian Annis sees the future of data analytics. Discover how it is even easier for people to see and understand their data and why it matters.

Optum: “Designing your career in Design”

In this talk, Patrick Mooney, Director of User Experience will discuss how design is being used within the Optum company. He will also cover the points that you should consider when starting out, or progressing your design career.  

Workhuman: ‘From employee no. 10 to CTO, scaling one of Ireland’s most successful tech companies’

Facebook: ‘Building a thriving company culture’
