Here’s what happened on Day 1 of HIGHER at Dublin Tech Summit

By April 10, 2019For Talent

Day one of Ireland’s biggest and most exciting careers event took place today and it was everything we expected it to be. There were more than 40 companies exhibiting, all looking for their next hires. As well as a host of exciting job opportunities, these companies brought gorgeous swag, cutting edge technology and even the occasional basketball hoop. Didn’t make it to HIGHER today?

Here’s what you missed. (You can still join us tomorrow.)

Talks were given

There was an abundance of meaningful keynotes and panels at Jobbio HIGHER today. From learning about how Facebook builds its company culture to dissecting the requirements of a successful career in UX design, there was a lot of free education up for grabs.

Awards were received

Work Happy 100 is an awards series that celebrates the companies doing great things for their employees. It’s Ireland’s happiest workplaces nominated by those who know them best, their employees. The Prism Stage in Dublin Tech Summit was where our esteemed winners were announced: Jameson in the Graduate Programme category, Zahra Media Group in the Small Business category, Workhuman in the Medium Enterprise category and Airbnb in the Large Enterprise category. Massive congratulations to all!

Codes were cracked

Our codefest hackathon was a massive hit with Java developers coming together to decode a cryptographic puzzle using tech provided by Mastercard. There were three winners of this prestigious competition who landed both a cash prize and an interview to join the Mastercard team.

Connections were made

1000s of talent came through the doors of HIGHER looking for their next job opportunity and to network with some of the world’s leading tech brands. Connections made today will last beyond the event through the Jobbio app. Here, talent can keep up to date with new jobs posted by the companies they spoke to at the event.
