Social Distancing: here are 5 fun things you can do at home this weekend

By March 27, 2020Trending

You might as well make the most of social distancing!

Well folks, we did it! We made it through another week of working from home, social distancing and living through a global pandemic.

If you’re kind of dreading the weekend, we don’t really blame you. The days are terribly long at the moment, now that we’ve been asked to stay inside as much as possible. Thankfully, there are loads of great things we can do from the comfort of our own homes (yay!)

Check out some of our great social distancing activities…

At-Home Bake off

Why not use this time to bake something delicious, and then sit down and eat the whole thing? If you live with people, you could have your own ‘Bake Off’ afternoon, where you all have to make something and judge who did the best.

Have a pamper session

Now, more than ever, we need to mind ourselves. That, naturally, means looking after your physical health and mental health. So with that, take the weekend as an opportunity to turn your home into a bit of a spa. Get a face mask, a leave-in hair conditioner and a glass of vino, and relax. You’ve earned it!

Start an online course

You may have spotted earlier this week, but we did a lovely round-up of some really brilliant free online courses. On the Internet right now, you can study everything from Digital Marketing tools, to wellness hacks – all without leaving the house. You might as well take this opportunity to up-skill, sure.

Do a workout

If you have been on social media in the last two weeks, then you have more than likely seen someone doing an at-home workout, and we say good on them. Why not give it a whirl over the weekend? It doesn’t have to be an intense HIIT class, even a bit of yoga from your living room would be a great way to spend an hour or two. Plus, you’ll feel great after it.

If all else fails, binge Tiger King on Netflix

Lads, if you had a busy or tiring week, and can think of nothing worse than exercising or studying, we have two word – TIGER KING. Available on Netflix, the story centres around a big cat zoo and its flamboyant owner. Joseph Maldonado-Passage (a.k.a. “Joe Exotic”) purchased an Oklahoma horse farm in the 1990s. Eventually the farm became a zoo with big cats. The story ends with a murder-for-hire plot. Honestly, brilliant watching.

Have a lovely weekend!
