The Perfect OOO Templates for Christmas Break

By December 14, 2021For Talent

It’s finally here! Yes folks, check your advent calendars because it is almost time to clock out for Christmas.

But before you dash off to do some last minute shopping or to pick up your turkey there’s one more thing that you have to do, set your out of office email.

You don’t want to send a boring generic email like last year do you? Of course not. Try out one of our more inventive ideas instead.

1. For the Christmas enthusiast

You’ve already watched Elf four times this year and you can basically recite Miracle on 34th Street line by line. Everyone knows you absolutely love Christmas so your out of office email might as well represent this.

Seasons Greetings,

I’m out of the office on annual leave which means I am currently:

A. Roasting chestnuts on an open fire.

B. Walking in a winter wonderland.

C. Rockin’ around the Christmas tree.

I’ll be back in the office on [end date] and will respond to your message then.

P.S. It’s a trick question, I will be doing all three.

Happy holidays,
[your name].

2. For the Grinch

Uh oh, you’re really not feeling the festive cheer, are you? If you’re not bursting with Yuletide joy don’t worry, we’ve got the perfect out of office template for you. It’s short and to the point.

Hi there,

I will be out of the office from [start date] until [end date]. I will respond to your emails as soon as possible when I return in the new year.

In the meantime, if you’d like to start planning for 2021 you can find out more about our amazing services on our website.

Warm Regards,
[your name]

3. For the person who can’t switch off

Sometimes we can’t completely abandon our workload over Christmas. If you feel like you will need to check in every so often then try this template out for size.

Hello,

I’m currently out of office for the holidays. I will be back at work on [end date].

While I will probably be spending most of my time lounging on the sofa stuffing my face with turkey, I will be checking my emails at least once a day.

If your inquiry isn’t time sensitive I will reply to you in the new year. However, if it is urgent please send it again with ”priority” in the subject line.

Merry Christmas to you and yours,

[your name]

4. For the pun master

If you’re a thesaurus whizz kid and a wit extraordinaire then buckle up. Here’s a pun-filled email that is sure to get you at least a few responses.

Hi There,

I am currently off on my ho-ho-holidays. Unlike Santa, I won’t be working on Christmas Eve this year (that would be crackers!) but you will be able to catch me on [end date] when I’m back in the office.

Have a lovely Christmas. I hope Yule enjoy it!

[your name]
