This time, Jobbio’s Backend Developer, Muhammad Mobeen, is talking us through his career to date.

Educational background: Bachelor of Software Engineering from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Islamabad (2018-2022).
What was your career path to getting this job?
I began my career with an internship at Alfabolt Systems, where I contributed to web development. I then moved to Red Marker Systems, where I worked as a software developer for a year, focusing on backend development using Django. That experience prepared me for my current role at Jobbio.
How do you think your previous roles led to this job?
My previous roles allowed me to refine my skills in backend development, API design, and working with databases. I also developed strong collaboration skills while working with cross-functional teams, which helped me transition smoothly into my role at Jobbio.
How did you land your first role in tech?
My first tech job was an internship at Alfabolt Systems. I got the opportunity to work on real-world projects, which built my confidence and technical skills, laying the groundwork for my subsequent roles.
How long have you worked at Jobbio?
I’ve been working at Jobbio for more than a year.
What skills or characteristics do you value in your colleagues?
I value problem-solving, open communication, and the ability to collaborate across teams. These characteristics foster an environment where we can work together efficiently
What do you do on a daily and weekly basis?
My daily work includes designing and maintaining backend systems, developing APIs, and ensuring database integrity. Weekly, I contribute to sprint planning and work on optimising system performance.
What’s your favourite thing about your job?
I love being able to solve complex problems through backend development. Working with cutting-edge technologies and seeing my contributions make a tangible impact is highly rewarding.
What’s your best piece of advice for someone looking to get a similar role?
Get hands-on experience, whether through internships, projects, or open-source contributions. Build a solid understanding of backend technologies like Django, databases, and APIs, and focus on problem-solving.
What’s the one thing you always do at work to help you succeed?
I always prioritize clear communication and documentation. Keeping everything well-documented ensures that my work is maintainable and that collaboration with others is smooth.
What’s the one thing you think you should never do at work?
Work in isolation. Communication and collaboration are key to success in any team-oriented environment, especially in tech.
What excites you about working in the tech space now?
The continuous evolution of technology excites me. Working on innovative solutions, particularly in backend development, where I can directly impact system performance and scalability, keeps me engaged and motivated.
How would you advise leveraging existing skills to land a job in the tech industry?
Leverage any technical skills you already have—whether in coding, databases, or systems architecture—by applying them to real-world problems. Focus on building a portfolio of projects that showcase your ability to solve complex issues, and be proactive in learning new tools and technologies.
